Minimally invasive surgical services

Colposcopy is a common procedure performed in Gynecology to evaluate cervical changes related to infection from high risk types of human papilloma virus. A microscope is used to visualize the cervix. A vinegar based solution is then placed on the cervix to localize abnormal cellular change. Based on the findings under the microscope, a small sampling may be obtained from the cervical canal and/or the surface of the cervix.
